My card base is 5X7.  All of the paper I used is Recollections from Michael's.  The Santa image was stamped with a rubber stamp I purchased at Hobby Lobby and colored using my Crayola pencil colors and OMS.  I added some stickles for some sparkle.  I punched the corners with a corner punch and inked around the edges and distressed it a bit with some Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink.  The pretty gold ribbon is also from Hobby Lobby. For the inside of the card, I stamped the little trees with Old Olive ink from Stampin Up.  the Tree stamp is from the $1 bin at Michael's.  My sentiment is from My Pink Stamper and was stamped using the same Old Olive ink.

For my project, I created a card:

My card is a typical A2 sized card.  The card base is some green card stock I had in my stash from like 2009, yep I said 2009, I'm a hoarder when it comes to crafting supplies!  LOL  The blue card stock is from Recollections and was ran through the cuttlebug using a sah-weet embossing folder I picked up from Pinque Peacock.  The apple paper is from DCWV Make the Grade, at least that's what I think the name of it was.  My yellow ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  My image was cut at 3.5 using my Silhouette and the image was purchased from the Silhouette store, it's a Samantha Walker image.  I popped the school house up on some pop dots to give it some depth.  Last but not least my sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps "School Days".

Pinque Peacock - Crafty Kit -Pencil Box

Hello my pretty little feathered friends!  How are you today!  I am soooo excited because I have another Crafty Kit project to share.  Today, I used the mini kit, it's a pencil box.

This is the kit!

I have to admit I had no clue what I was going to do with it.  So I kinda sat around waiting for an idea to pop into my head; and this is what I came up with:

First, I pained the entire box box, except for the inside, I painted it pink.  Next, I tore off bits of the brown, green, light pink, dark pink and cream colored tissue and used my Mod Podge to stick it to the box randomly.  I then added some ruler washi tape, which you can purchase at Pinque Peacock and finally cut out the cute pencil and scissors using my trusty Cricut to finish it off.

You can find the Crafty Kit or the Mini Crafty Kit HERE!

For the Boys Blog Hop

 Hi Everybody!

Welcome to the For the Boys Blog Hop!  We all know how hard it can be to create guy/boy themed projects, so this hop will help you with that!  You'll find tons of inspiration for the men and boys in your life!!

If you came here from GINA'S blog, then you are in the right place.  If you just happened upon this Blog Hop, make sure to head over to JENNY'S BLOG so that you see the full hop from the very beginning.

I often have difficulty with masculine cards.  For some reason or another, they seem to always lack something.  So I decided to challenge myself by participating in this blog hop.
For my project today, I made an any occasion card.......basically, I didn't put any specific sentiment in the inside so I can use it for anything.  LOL

To create it, I started with a black A2 sized card, added a striped mat then an orange mat and finally my stamped mat.  The stamp set is from CTMH.  I distressed it along the edges and used my Tim Holtz distress ink in tea dye along the edges and across the card.

Before you go, make sure to sign up to win these AMAZING PRIZES!

$5 Gift Certificate

Close to My Heart A Size stamp set

Now it's time for you to head over to my super talented friend, ANGELA'S blog.

Pinque Peacock - Book Box Crafty Kit

Hello, Hello! It's so good to see you again.

Today, I have a project to share using the Pinque Peacock Crafty Kit which you can find HERE!  Let me just say I am mostly a paper crafter, you know cards and scrapbooks.  I also do an occasional deco mesh wreath.  Well when I received the kit, I looked at all the wonderful goodies and then said "OMGoodness, what am I going to do with this?" LOL

Using the crafty kit, made me step out of my comfort zone and try something new.
Well take a look and let me know what you think!

Okay, so above is the sample kit I received.  I didn't use all of the products and I did add some things out of my stash!

The finished product.  I painted the entire box, then added some of the pink tissue at the top and bottom of the box using Mod Podge.  I added the pretty paper that came in the kit in the center.  I absolutely fell in love with these little metal corners (I don't know what they are really called) as soon as I saw them.  From my stash, I added the bling which by the way was clear and I kinda went over them with a brown sharpie.  The three larger paper roses are also from my stash as are the two GORGEOUS Pinque Peacock stick pins.  Yep there are two, the green beaded stick pin and the tall gold one with that beautiful metal broach of sorts.  ( I know I am terrible with names)  Any how, I wrapped the stems of the smaller roses, which came with the kit, around the stick pin.  The gold leaf and the bird cage charms were also part of the kit.

I painted the raised areas on the side of the book with some greenish blue paint to bring out more the blue in the paper that I used.  I also pained along the entire edge of the book to tie in the blue paint.

As,  I said above, I painted the entire book with the yellow paint that was included in the kit, yep the inside of the box too.

I used the gold tissue that was included in the kit as gilded pages.  Ok, so you have to use your imagination to get the idea.  But most really old books have that.  LOL

All and all I was pleased with the results of my project today.
I hope I was able to inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
