Princess Aria

Good Morning my Crafty Friends!
It's hump day!  Woo Hoo!!!!!!

Can you believe it, I'm posting and it's not a DT day!
I really wish I could get back into posting everyday again but it seems something always gets in the way.  I really thought 2014 was going to be "the year"; you know the year for positive changes in my life but rather it has been a somewhat hard year.  We've lost two wonderful people in our family and it seems like since that time, anything and everything that could go wrong has.

Well, I've decided to take control of my life again.  I'm determined to make those positive changes I thought would come with 2014.  And I'm beginning with this project!

Right in the middle of all of the sorrow in our lives, something wonderful occurred,
A couple of months ago, I shared a picture of her.  She was born March 5, 2014 and she is GORGEOUS!  Of course I am biased!!!  LOL

Any way, I created a frame for her beautiful new born pic!  Take a look............

I purchased this open frame at Michael's while it was on 1/2 off.  I added a piece of chicken wire to the back using a staple gun.  I cut out the little banner using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge and my trusty Cricut Expression machine.  I cut her name and added some stickles to give it some sparkle.  Added the flowers in the corner and attached her photo using some mini clothes pins.  To protect my wall, I added some self adhesive felt furniture circles.  Last but not least, I added some flowers to finish it off.

I can't promise I'll be back to posting everyday again, but I am going to make a more conscience effort to post at least twice a week and then work my way up to three times a week and so forth and so on.

I apologize for the long post but I wanted to share all the craziness that is my life and thank each and everyone of you for sticking with me and visiting my blog when I do post!

Anything Goes over at Pinque Peacock!

That's right guys, it's anything goes for our next challenge over at the Pinque Peacock Challenge Blog!  But remember you still have time to enter the current Altered Tag challenge!  The more the merrier!

On to my project..........

It's nice and bright over here in South Louisiana a/k/a New Orleans so I thought I would make a bright card.  LOL

I started with an A2 white card base added a orange layer and then a yellow layer that was ran through my crimper!  I added some awesome WASHI Tape along with a handmade Splendid Swirl, a fabric covered button as the center of my flower and of course a beautiful Angel Stick Pin, which can all be found in the Pinque Peacock store.  Yep, the Washi Tape too!  Then to complete my card, I added a butterfly brad along with some bling and a sweet sentiment from K Andrews!

I hope you are inspired to join us for our challenges either the current Tag Challenge or the next challenge of Anything Goes!!!!

Have a Wonderful Crafty Weekend!!!!!

Another Tag

Good Morning!  How are you guys?  It's me again with another tag!!!!  This tag is a much smaller one.  I think I'm liking this now.  LOL

I used a mini tag this time.  I inked it up good to make a background then stamped it with a Tim Holtz stamp.  I punched a flower and curled the petals and added a covered button as the center.  I added a sweet pearl stick pin and finished it off with a piece of lace.

You still have time to join us for this month's challenge - Altered Tags over on the Pinque Peacock Challenge Blog!

Altered Tag

Good Morning!

Today is my day to post over at Pinque Peacock!  I've tried my hand at something altered tag!  I made this tag as part of the Pinque Peacock Challenge for this month!  Isn't that what challenges are all about, getting you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new!  Well here it is........

Okay, so I didn't even know where to begin making an altered tag especially since I mostly do cards and now and again some scrapbook pages!  I watched a few YouTube videos and looked at a few other tags.  I started with my back ground and layered it with all these different inks as suggested in all the videos.  I then started stamping and adding different embellishments.  I started with a Splendid Swirl and Pearl Stick Pin from Pinque Peacock and then added some metal embellishments I picked up at Michael's and finished it off with some crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM.

I think my biggest problem is I tend to do things clean and simple and well altered tags are all but CAS.  I hope you enjoyed my tag and feel free to critique it.  Any advise is welcomed as long as you keep it sweet!  LOL

I hope you'll join us for this month's challenge, you can find it HERE!
