My Cricut Craft Room Card Creating Tuesday

Good Morning My Crafty Friends!  Today is my day to post over at My Cricut Craft Room.  For our projects today, we had to make a Christmas Card using "pink" for cancer awareness!  Here is my project!

To create my project, I used Jolly Holidays Cricut Cartridge.  My card base is 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 with each layer being 1/4 inch smaller.  My background paper was printed using my Imagine and Santa's Village Imagine Cartridge.  My pretty pink buttons are from Wal-Mart as well as the pink ribbon.  My mittens were cut at 3 inches and the white was ran through the cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder.  I inked around the edges with some Memento Black Tuxedo ink.  My sentiment is from My Creative Time - Mixed Holiday Sentiments in the same ink.

WYEGW

Good Morning my Crafty Friends!  How are you guys this week?  I am still playing catch up from Issac.  I am so behind on projects it's insane.  Did you notice our new graphics?  We are turning everything pink in honor of cancer awareness!  Each of our projects have something pink even if you can't see it, it's there.  It may simply be the stamp on the back of the card.

For my project today, we were challenged to use the flower on page 12 of the Flower Shoppe Cartridge.  Here is my card let me know what you think!

My card is a typical A2 sized card.  My black card base was cut using black card stock from Wal-Mart.  The purple paper is Recollections from Michael's.  The background paper is from my scrap box.  My flower was cut at 2 inches.  The green gemstones are Studio G, the ribbon is from Michael's and my adorable sentiment is from My Creative Time "Mixed Holiday Sentiments".

My pink is on the backside.  I stamped my personalized stamp in pink.  I should have taken a pic of it but didn't think of it until just now!  Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!  Now head over to My Cricut Craft Room to see what my DT Sisters have created!

Welcome to Boo-ville!

Happy Friday!  Do you have big Crafty Plans for the weekend?  I am hoping to finish cleaning my craft room and get in some much needed craft time!!!!!  I finally used my "A Frightful Affair" cricut cartridge that I picked up for a really good price over at Erica's Craft Room Store.  I've been having it since it was released but never got around to playing with it.  Do you guys do that buy something and then don't use it for a really long time?  I believe I have cartridges that I purchased years ago and still haven't used.  I am beginning to think I am a craft hoarder! LOL  In fact while making my card, I remembered that I purchased some mini black buttons while shopping at Hobby Lobby with my enabler (my Mom) and now I have no clue where they are!  Any who, enough about me.....here is my cute and simple Halloween Card:

Aren't these pumpkins the cutest scariest pumpkins you have ever seen.  LOL  My card is a typical A2 sized card, for those of you who don't know what that means, it's a 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 base.  My green layer is cut at  5 1/4 X 4 inches and my cute background paper was cut at 5 X 3 3/4.  All of my paper used today is from my scrap box.  My fence was cut at 2 1/2 inches I didn't cut the bottom piece for the fence, rather I used some brown ink to make it look like dirt.  Then I took my Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink and lightly inked up the rest of the fence.  I wanted some of the white to still show through.  My pumpkins were cut at 2 inches the red was cut without shit and the black was cut with shift using my trusty Cricut Expression.  How many of you purchased all the new and improved Cricut machines but find yourself going back to the first one you owned!  Yep, me too!  I own the E, E2 and Imagine but tend to use the E mostly......see hoarder!  Sorry I tend to digress a bit.  My sentiment is from Cardz TV with Mary's "Spooky Sayings" this is from last Halloween but I still love the set!

Oh, before I forget, I am only about 15 followers away from 300 and would love to give away my goodies!  So if you are new to my blog or haven't entered my giveaway, CLICK HERE to do so!

I'm Back!

Hello My Crafty Friends!  I am so excited I finally got my craft room back in working order and my machines still work.   I have to say I was a little worried my house was pretty damp due to Hurricane Issac and no electricity for a week, but everything is working.  Some of my paper didn't survive the dampness but for the most part everything is fine!
I used my Imagine to create my project.  I must say I was most worried about my Imagine because of all my machines, it seems to be most fragile.

My card is a A2 sized card (5 1/2 X 4 1/4).  The yellow mat is a 1/4 inch smaller. I wanted more of the yellow mat to show so my white mat is cut at 3 3/4 X 5 inches and the background paper (printed from Enjoy The Seasons) is cut at 3 10/16 X 4 13/16 inches.  My image was printed and cut at 3 1/2 inches from the Enjoy The Seasons Imagine Cricut Cartridge.  All of the layers are popped up using foam tape from Wal-Mart.  My yellow ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  My card is ready for which ever sentiment I decide to use in it.  I think it would make a great Happy Fall Card or even at cute card for a birthday or for a teacher.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today!
Thank you for being so patient and understanding while I get my life back to normal.

Update

Good Morning my crafty friends!  I just want to give a little update on whats happening in my life and why you haven't been seeing much of me.  As some of you know, I am dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Issac who graced us with his presence on the evening of Tuesday, August 28th and stayed for a three day visit.  With that being said our area was hit pretty hard.  My home town of Lafitte still has flood waters in some areas.  Although I no longer live in Lafitte my dad, my brother and other family members still do.  At my house, I suffered minor damages compared to others, wind driven rain through both my front and back doors, my cabinets in my kitchen got a bit wet, my shed doors didn't fare so well and my front gate came crashing down.  We were out of power for 6 days so needless to say I lost the stuff in my fridge.  All and all the my loss was minimal compared to some.  I am thankful all of my family is safe and we are able to pick up the pieces and move on.  I am back at work and almost completely finished cleaning up around my house.  I actually got into my craft room last night and started picking up in there.  Needless to say since it is the spare room, anything that had to be moved during the storm was put in there.  I actually was able to make some headway last night and am hoping to finish up tonight and planning a craft day with my Mommy on Sunday!  Woo Hoo!
On another note, the Friday before Issac, August 24, 2012 we welcomed my newest Grandson, Cayden James Duhon born to my son, Christopher and his lovely sweetheart, Ashley.  Cayden weighed 8# 7oz and was 20 inches long.  He is a handsome little fellow (I'm not biased at all! LOL)!

This pic does him no justice.  He was still in the hospital.  He is a good mixture of his parents but reminds me so much of his dad when he was born.

Today is my oldest Grandson, Brayden's 7th Birthday.  Oddly enough, he was born 9 days following Hurricane Katrina, while we were in Texas evacuated.  Happy Birthday Brayden, Nana loves you!

So in the mist of all this chaos, we have some bright moments!  Thank you, Lord for providing for me and my family in our time of need!  God is Wonderful!!!!

On a totally different note, I am up to 283 followers!!!!!  Only 17 more to go to reach my goal of 300 and I will be giving away my blog candy!   For more info CLICK HERE!!!!!

I want to thank each and everyone of you for being so supportive through my time of need!  And thanks for continuing to follow me even when I don't post all the time.  I am hoping to be back on track next week!!!!
