My Cricut Craft Room - WYEGW

Good Morning My Crafty Friends!  I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend!  Today is Would You Ever Guess Wednesday over at My Cricut Craft Room.  Our theme for today is Phrase; so that means we have to use the phrase feature on any cart to create our project.  For my project, I decided to use Birthday Bash!

The image I choose can be found on page 69.  I cute it at 2 inches using this awesome glitter paper from Erica's store along with some Canteloupe Liquid Pearls and my background paper which I also picked up there.  My ribbon is from Wal-Mart.

My Cricut Craftroom Scrapbook Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!  Do you have big plans for the weekend?  Well today is the 25th of the month; do you know what that means at My Cricut Craftroom?  I'll tell you, it means we are celebrating Christmas today.  Our assignment today was to create a Christmas Layout and since I am way behind on scrapbooking, mostly because I stopped when I started making cards, I thought I would make a page for my Grandson, Hilton's book.

For my layout today I used four different cartridges.  I used Christmas to cut my tree at 6 inches, the teddy bear and the rocking horse at 2.75.  My scalloped square I used as my background was cut at 11.5 inches from Elegant Edges.  My title was cut at 3 inches from Baby Steps using the phrase feature.  And finally my tag was cut at 3 inches using CTMH Art Philosophy. I tied some twin onto my tag and added some Silver Pearl Liquid Pearls as the i in delight.

Good Morning Everyone!  I hope everyone is having a fantastic day!  My Grandson, Brayden was over at my house this past weekend and he loves to cut out characters and put them together.  I just recently purchased Sesame Street Seasons and he was looking through the handbook and found Grover.  We cut him out and put him together then decided to add him to a card......take a look!

Grover looks like he is having a great time in his swim trunks and hat so we decided to add a sentiment from K Andrew's Positive Thoughts stamp set.  We added a few buttons and some ribbon from Wal-Mart and our card was complete.  Now who should be give it to?  I told him we could add a Happy Birthday to the inside and use it for a birthday party we are invited to, but he hasn't decided yet!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge - Disney

For my card, I used paper from Recollections and Cordinations.  My card is A2 sized and each layer is 1/4 inch smaller than the one below it.  My image was cut from Mickey & Friends Cricut Cartridge and was cut at 2.75 on my E-2 and is popped up using Recollection foam squares.  My buttons came from Hobby Lobby.  The ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  I hand cut my matt for my sentiment which is from the adorable "Of Mice & Lil Men" stamp set from K Andrew Designs.

For my card today, I decided to use my Imagine and Enjoy the Seasons.  I cut and printed this cute little girl swimming.  Don't you love her floaties!  I used the layer feature and added some foam squares and foam tape between each layer.  You really can't see the dimension here but it is super cute in person.  My image was cut at 3 inches using Color Bok white card stock.  My yellow base is 5 1/2 X 4 and each additional layer is 1/4 of inch smaller.  All of my paper other than the white paper that I printed on is from my scrap box including the yellow base.  I cut my scalloped circle using my E2 and the pre-loaded Essential cartridge at 1.75 inches.  My ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  And last but not least, my sentiment is from Splash-tastic Summer stamp set.  Who wouldn't enjoy a dip in the pool to cool off, right!  Ohhh, I almost forgot I added Glossy Accents to the water to make it look wet.  Of course you really can't see that in the pic either.  Had I not lost my expensive camera you would more than likely be able to see it.

Tea-riffic Birthday

Hello Everyone!  How are you guys today?  I am looking forward to the weekend.  Last weekend was such a busy one that I don't feel like I had a day off.  Hopefully I can get some crafting in this weekend!  What are your plans for the weekend? Well enough rambling let me show you what I made.  Today I have a birthday card, I'm getting low on those and need to build up my stash.  It's a rather simple card.

All of my solid paper is from the Recollections South Beach pack.  My background paper is from my scrap box.  The card base is 6 X6 and each layer is 1/4 each smaller.  I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Die Blossom (the largest one in the pack) to cut a matt for my image.  I then ran it through my cuttlebug using the bloom dots folder.  Using a Martha Stewart ink (sorry don't know the color - I'm at work, shhhhh) I ran it across the embossed image.  I added my adorable tea cup, which is cut at 3 inches from the Kate's ABC's cartridge using foam squares. I also used foam squares to adhere the embossed layer to give it some dimension.  I hand cut the matt for my AWESOME sentiment.  The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Art Stamps - Coffee & Tea for You & Me.

Happy Tuesday!  Today is Card Creating Tuesday over at My Cricut Craft Room!  Today, we had a sketch to work with.  Here is the sketch:

For my card, I used the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge.  My base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored and folded at 4 1/4 (Color Bok Paper).  My pink layer was cut at 5 1/4 X 4 (Recollections).  And my background paper was cut at 5 C 3 3/4 (DCWV - Sweet Matt Stack).  My model was cut at 4 inches.  The perfume and lipstick were cut at 1.5 using including the layers. My scalloped square was cut from Paper Trimmings Cricut Cartridge at 1.5.  My sentiment is from K Andrew Designs - Fashionable Friends.

Abusive Relationship Awareness Blog Hop

Welcome to the Abusive Relationship Awareness Blog Hop. While this may not be your typical blog hop theme, we decided to put together this hop in order to shed light on a topic that often goes unspoken about, when the truth is many of us have either been in an abusive relationship or know of someone who has. We're here not to celebrate abusive relationships, but to bring hope to those who have been firsthand or secondhand victims and to provide awareness to help put an end to this growing problem. 


All of our projects showcased in this hop have something to do with hope, love, and encouragement. The color for domestic violence is purple, and as you'll see purple was used on many of our projects.


Okay, I could share my horrid experience of years of mental, emotional and finally physical abuse or I can tell you how I survived and made my life better.  I choose the latter.  So here's my story.....approximately 17 years ago I made a decision that forever changed the life of my children and myself.  I left my husband, the man that I thought would love, protect and provide for me my entire life.  The father of my three children, my high school sweetheart, the love of my life; you get the picture right.  The man that abused me in some sort of way the entire 13 years we were together; whether it was mental, emotional or physical.  When I left the house that we shared, I took my clothes, my children and their clothes.  We moved from a very comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bath home into a 1 bedroom 1 bath home but all that didn't matter as long as there was no more fighting.  I immediately began the healing process.  I put my life in the Lord's hands, I know this sounds really cliche` but you don't understand I sorta lost my way.  When I moved back to my home town, I started attending Church every Sunday at the Church that I attended when I was a child.  I knew what I had to do, I had to find it in myself to truly forgive the person that destroyed me.  And I did!  I truly forgive him for everything he has ever done to me.  By forgiving me, I sorta freed myself of all that negativity.  My Grandmother always told me, "you can't get in heaven with a black heart".  By taking that step, I was able to become the strong, independent woman I am today.  I am able to love and trust again.  And I only have the Lord to thank for that.  I guess what I am trying to say is don't dwell on the dark times, move ahead make peace with yourself and begin the healing process.  


For my project, I created a card.... 

Recipe: 

A2 sized card base in dark purple - Recollections Paper

Background paper is from my stash (Sorry don't remember the name of it)

My rosette was created by cutting a strip of purple paper (Recollections) 1 1/2 X 12 then scoring it every 1/2 inch and fan folding it.  Glue the two ends together and push down on the center to form the rosette.  Add a circle to the back and then whatever you are putting on the top.

Cards for My Bloggie Friends

Hello Everyone!  I hope everyone is having a good evening.  I have a quick post for you today.  I thought I would show you the little cards I enclose with my blog candy when I send it off to the winner.

3-D Flowers for Mother's Day

Good Morning My Crafty Friends!  I hope everyone is having a good week so far.  I want to share a Mother's Day Project with you today.  I am actually making 5 of these.  I play Poker-Keno once a month with 5 of my family members. {my mom, 3 of my cousins and my future SIL} So I decided to make them each a flower arrangement with paper flowers.  I went down to the Dollar Tree and picked up 5 of these bud vases for $1 and some glass marbles (well at least that's what I call them) and some floral tape.  Then I went home and got started.

I cut my flowers from Flower Shoppe and CTMH Art Philosophy.  I cut them at all different sizes ranging from 2 1/2 inches to 4 1/2 inches.  I inked the edges using SU inks and CTMH inks and added some bling to some.  My leaves are silk because I needed a something to make the arrangement full without having to put a dozen flowers in. LOL

My ribbon is from Michael's and my sweet sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Art Stamps "Of Mice & Lil Men".  I stamped my sentiment is SU Regal Rose and used Making Memories tag maker to create my tag.  I wanted a sentiment that could be displayed all the time rather than just through Mother's Day.

For today's project, I used Imagine More Cards and the original Wild Card.  I have a photo tutorial for you:

I used Recollections Paper for the pink base, Color bok from Walmart to print and cut in the Imagine and Georgia Pacfic also from Wal-Mart for the inside liner.

My card base was cut at 6 inches using the scallop that can be found on page 52 of the Wild Card handbook.  The printed and cut images from Imagine More Cards were cut at 5 inches using the layer feature.

I adhered the first layer using my ATG gun. 

It really is pretty enough to use just like this, but I wanted some dimension. 

So I added some foam tape to the next several layers. 

Finally I stamped the Daughter sentiment from K Andrew Designs Art Stamps - All in the Family stamp set using CTMH Chocolate Ink. 

For the inside sentiment, I used K Andrew Designs Art Stamps - Amazing You stamp set, which by the way is quickly becoming one of my favorite sets!  To purchase your own set of these wonderful stamps click HERE!
