Betty Boop Rides

Happy Monday My Crafty Friends!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Today I have a birthday card for you.  I have a friend who loves to ride Harley's and loves Betty Boop.  Well her birthday is coming up soon so I thought I would make a card.

I found the image on the net and printed it.  Using my Cricut, the center point mode and CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge, I cut it into a scallop oval.  I inked around the edges with Memento Black Tuxedo ink.  I stamped Happy Birthday in red Staz On ink using two K Andrew Designs stamp sets.  Happy from Owly Hoo and Birthday from Coffee & Tea for You & Me.  I added some bitty buttons from SU and threaded them with some charcoal twine from the Twinery.  I also made a little bow for the top corner.  My image was popped up with some foam squares from Recollections.

Freedom Isn't Free

Happy Sunday Everyone!  I got a couple of private messages saying that some people couldn't see my card on Getting Cricky With K Andrew so I decided to go ahead and post it here! Sorry if you are seeing it twice. So here it is:

As you can see, I am all about simple!  My Liberty Bell was cut at 3 ½ inches on Recollections Precious Metals paper pack from Michael’s.  My white base is Georgia Pacific card stock from Wal-Mart and was cut at 5 ½ X 8 ½ and scored at 4 ¼ to form an A2 card.  My red layer is cut at 5 ¼ X 4 and the blue layer is cut at 5 X 3 ¾.  My red and blue paper is from my scrap box.  For my sentiment box, I cut the white at 3 X ½ and the red at 2 ¾ X 9/8.  My ribbon is from Michael’s.  My awesome sentiment came from K Andrew's Freedom Isn't Free Stamp Set!  To get your own stamp set, click here

My Cricut Craft Room My IMAGINE ation Monday

Good Morning My Crafty Friends!  Well it's Monday and you know what that means.......it's Imagine-ation Monday over at My Cricut Craft Room!  It's the day where the DT has to use their Imagine, CCR or E2 to create a project.  I choose to use my Imagine along with Better Together Imagine Cricut Cartridge.

My base is 5 1/2 X 4 using Recollections card stock.  My red layer was cut at the same size and the corners were punched using an EK Success corner punch and inked the edges with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I wanted just a little of the cream card stock to show.  Next I cut my image at 2.5 using the layers feature on the Better Together cartridge.  I added glossy accents to the heart.  My birds and the heart are popped up using Recollections foam adhesive.  I love that stuff!  I stamped my sentiment using K Andrew Designs "All In The Family" stamp set and SU Real Red ink.  I cut two slits in the card that the sentiment was stamped on punched the corners using my corner chomper and added some polka dot ribbon from Wal-Mart through the slits.  I added a anniversary quote I found on line to the inside and it was done.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my project.  Have a great week!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge

Happy Sunday my Crafty Friends!  Today is another Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky with K Andrew.  The theme for today is "Give A Hoot", we are encouraged to use an owl and something recycled on our project in honor of Earth Day.

For my project, I used the Give a Hoot Cricut Cartridge.  I cut my heart earth at 4 inches and my owl at 3 inches with all the layers.  My card is a typical A2 size card.  I used a piece of old dictionary paper as my background paper and part of my recycling.  My green ric rac is also recycled, its what was wrapped around my stamps I received from K Andrew!  All of my paper including the base is from my scrap drawer.
For my sentiment, I used the Positive Thoughts stamp set from K Andrew Designs.  "Attitude is Everything" is the perfect sentiment for Earth Day.  For your own set of these wonderful stamps click on the picture below.

SPLASH-TASTIC SUMMER

A little about my style, well for the most part I like clean and simple.  I like doing scrapbooks as well as cards.  I do find myself making more cards than layouts and I think its because of the instant gratification you get from making cards.  Now onto my projects: My youngest son, Christopher and his finance' Ashley are expecting a baby boy in August.  So guess what I'm getting to do, you got it help with a baby shower.

I decided to make a favor box and an invite.

The invitation is A2 sized.  All of my paper is from my scrap box.  Sorry I don't remember the names of the companies. Each of my layers is 1/4 of inch smaller than the one below it.  So the green is 5 1/4 X 4; white 5 X 3 3/4; lavender 4 3/4 X 3 1/2; and the background patterned paper is 4 1/2 X 3 1/4.  I cut my animals out and popped them up on top of the printed animals on the paper.  I used my Tim Holtz paper distresser to distress the edges of the paper.  My ribbon is from Michael's.  I hand cut the flag from green paper and using "It's" and "Baby" from K Andrew Designs Art Stamps Owly Hoo set and "a" from K Andrew Designs Art Stamps Splash-tastic Summer stamp set to create my sentiment.  I stamped my sentiment using CTMH Lagoon ink.

The blue layer is 5 1/4 X 4 and the edges were inked with SU Bashful Blue.  The words on the inside of my card were cut from New Arrival cricut cartridge.  Shower was cut a 2 inches and invite wording was cut at 2 3/4.

My sweet little onesie favor box was cut at 9 inches from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More2 cartridge.  I inked the edges with the same SU Bashful Blue Ink.  I also cut a squirrel out and popped him up on top of the image that was printed.  Added some mini clothes pins that I picked up at Wal-Mart and it's all done.

What blog hop would be complete without BLOG CANDY!  I'll have some surprise blog candy for one lucky person.  All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me which of K Andrew's stamp sets is your favorite and why you like it!  I won't require you to become a follower or subscribe, but if you do, leave a 2nd comment telling me so for an additional entry.  I'll be picking the winner on Wednesday, April 24th giving everyone a chance!

Getting Cricky With K Andrew Guest Designer Call

Hi Crafters!  How would you like to be a guest designer over at Getting Cricky with K Andrew?  Well, K Andrew is having a Guest Designer Call!  Take a look at the details below and head over to the Getting Cricky blog to participate!

Here are the details directly from K's blog:

Hi everyone! Okay...I loved how many participated in the Guest Designer Challenge last week. However, I realized that it may not work out great just doing a challenge...because some people can't guest design after they are picked for weeks on end.
I REALLY want to have a Guest Designer featured every week...so I thought I would just throw it out here...if you are interested, tag me on your blog (then email me) and leave me a comment here under this post with a link to your blog with a project you have created with my stamps. I will email you back and get you set up! Then I'll choose ONE Guest designer a month to join us for our fabulous Getting Cricky Hop--this will give you a FREE stamp set, lots of fun traffic and visitors to your blog, and getting to know our DT and of course ALL guest designers will get a chance to be looked at for our Design Team.
I'm finding that pouring thru hundreds of applications really isn't the best way to choose designers for my DT. I want people that ALREADY love and own my stamps...and those who I already know, or have a chance to get to know personally.
So there you have it...this week's Guest Designer Call.
Interested?
1. Send me an email
2. Link to me under your blog with your project created with my stamps--and then email me the link AFTER commenting here

I will then email you back and invite you to Guest Design.

OH! Want a great deal on my stamps so you can join us? I have a BIG sale going on right now at my store K Andrew Designs
Just use this code upon checkout....
letshavefun for 20% off your entire order--YES-that's and ADDITIONAL 20% off my sale price!

Love you ALL my sweet friends!!!

Light & Love,
K Andrew

Don't forget, you have to head over to GETTING CRICKY WITH K ANDREW to leave your comment!  Can't wait to see what you guys create!

Getting Cricky with K Andrew Stamp Promo Week

Hello My Crafty Friends!  Today is my day to post over at Getting Cricky With K Andrew!  I am soooo honored to have been chosen to continue on as part of this fabulous design team.  As a way to introduce you to the new design team, we are having a promo week showcasing some of Kristal's incredible stamp sets.  Each of the design team members choose a stamp set to showcase!  I choose "Splashtastic Summer".  This is such a fun set!

As most of you know, Kristal loves to give back, $1.00 from each stamp set sold goes to a well deserved charity.  All of Kristal's stamps are made here in the U.S.A., this way you are insured great quality as well as providing jobs.  As part of Promo Week and to make things a bit more fun, Kristal is having a SUPER STAMP SALE!  That's right crafters, you can get 20% off of this awesome stamp set and all you have to do is enter the code LETSHAVEFUN!

Now onto my project!

For my project today, I decided to make a Get "Whale" card, as my get well stock is depleted.  I used Life's A Beach Cricut Cartridge.  Using the square card feature along with the whale image,I cut my card at 5 inches on some green scrap paper. All of my paper for this project is from my scrap box, still tying to use that up; so I apologize for not knowing what company the paper is from.  I cut the wale at 3 inches using my Cricut Expression on light blue card stock.  The layer for the whale was cut using the layer feature in a sort of grayish blue paper.  I could have cut the tail off so that it wouldn't hang off the card but I kinda liked it.  I then pleated some blue ribbon I picked up at Michael's along the bottom.  I cut a scallop circle from Lacey Labels and stamped my sentiment in SU Pacific Point Ink and inked around the edges with the same.  For a final touch, I added Glossy Accents to the water coming out of his blow hole.

To get your own set of stamps, head over to K ANDREW DESIGNS ART STAMPS and don't forget to enter the LETSHAVEFUN code for your 20% Discount.  Be sure to visit Kristal's blog "Getting Cricky with K Andrew" to see what my super talented design team sisters have created.  And remember to come back on Friday, April 20th for our Blog Hop.  It's sure to be filled with lots of inspiration and some sweet candy!

Also, Kristal is looking for participants to be a guest designer and possibly a DT member for the next term.  Believe me this is not an opportunity you don't want to pass up!  Not only are her stamps amazing, so is she!

My Cricut Craft Room - The Letter "P"

Happy Monday my Crafty Friends!  I hope everyone had a great weekend and got lots of crafting in!  I was able to do a little in my craft room this weekend but not nearly as much as I wanted to.  Rather, I spent my weekend cleaning and resting; both things really needed to be done so it wasn't a total waste.
Today is my day to post over at My Cricut Craft Room.  Today I choose to make a project with the letter "P".  What does that mean you ask, well it means I have to use a cartridge that begins with P or cut an image beginning with the letter P.  Well I did both, I used the Cricut Cartridge "Paisley" to cut my "Purse"!

My card base is 5 1/2 X 4 1/4.  My dark pink layer is 5 1/4 X 4.  My pink glittered layer is 5 X 4.  All of my paper is Color bok from Wal-Mart except for the dsp used for my purse which is from DCWV.  My purse was cut at 2.75 using the Paisley Cricut Cartridge.  I cut the shadow along with all the layers.  I added a crystal for my button.  My ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.  The clear crystals at the top along with the yellow crystals are also from Hobby Lobby.  My awesome sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Fashionable Friends.

I hope you enjoyed my project today!
Thanks for stopping by!

My Cricut Craft Room - IMAGINE ation Monday

Good Morning!  I hope everyone had an awesome Easter weekend!  Seems we had/are having some issues with Blogger this weekend!  If you haven't been able to do the My Cricut Craft Room 100 Cartridge Blog Hop - CLICK HERE for Day One and HERE for Day Two!  You are sure to find some awesome inspiration!

Today is My IMAGINE ation Monday over at My Cricut Craft Room.  We are to use our Imagine, CCR or E2 to create a project.  I used both my Imagine and E2.  For my project today I used the Best Friends Imagine Cartridge and the Flower Shoppe Cartridge.

I cut my purse using the fit to page feature on the imagine.  I scored it and put it  together.    I added some ribbon (from Hobby Lobby) to the handle to keep it together.  I cut my flower at 2.0 inches using my E2 and the Flower Shoppe cartridge, added some bling to the center and some leaves to it.  My adorable sentiment is from K Andrew Fashionable Friends stamp set. Stamped on a ticket cut with EK Success Ticket punch and inked with Memento Rich Cocoa.  I used Color Bok white paper for the purse and my pink and green paper is from the Paper Studio

A side view!  This purse would make a great gift bag or gift card holder bag.  I put a teeny tiny white safety pin to the tag.  It's kinda hard to see here.

Be sure to stop by My Cricut Craft Room to see what all of the other DT members has created for your viewing pleasure!

Don't forget to comment along the way on all of the blogs today and tomorrow to be entered to win the Cricut cartridge that Erica is giving away today.
Winners will be announced on her blog on Tuesday!

I have made this card to share with you.... I used the Cricut cartridge Doodlecharm...

To create my shaped bunny card, I welded two bunnies using the blackout feature and my gypsy.  If you plan on adding a front to the card, you should use the shadow therefore it cuts the front panel the correct size.  (learned the hard way.  LOL) The base of my card was cut at 6 inches and the face was cut at 5.75.  I still had to trim down the base a little.  I then cut the bunny face and ran it through my cuttlebug using the swiss dots embossing folder.  I inked around the edges with SU Regal Rose ink.  Using my chalk, I added the inside of the ears.  I used my black gelly roll pen to add the whiskers and the mouth.  Don't you just love my googly eyes.  I picked those up at Wal-Mart in the craft section.  My nose was cut using the cartridge.  My pink ribbon is from Wal-Mart as well.

My sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Art Stamps; "All About Animals"!  My sentiment was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I'll be giving this card to my sweet little Godchild, Ava!

For my second project, I used Freshly Picked Cricut Cartridge.......

All of my paper is from Recollections unless otherwise stated.  The mushroom can be found on page 34 and was cut at 3.0 and the Gnome can be found on page 35 and he was cut at 2.5.  I used my white gelly roll pen to make faux stitch lines on both the mushroom and the gnome.  My ribbon is from Michael's and my sentiment is from K Andrew's "Splashtastic Summer" set.

For my final project today, I used Kate's ABC's Cricut Cartridge......

The little girl with her kittens can be found on page 52 and were cut at 3.5 with all her layers.  All of my paper is from my scrap bin.  I love when I can use scraps.  I ran the white piece through my cuttlebug with the Houndstooth embossing folder.  I pop dotted the scene up with some recollection foam squares.  I first used my pink gel pen to add a color to each of the kittens and then went over it with some Cotton Candy Stickles.  I used green glitter glue on the hat rather than the itty bitty leaves that were cut.  I used my white gelly roll pen to add stitch lines to her dress and the baby carriage.

For the inside of my card, I inked around the edges with SU Pretty In Pink.  My sentiment is from none other than K Andrew and I used two sets, "Our Friendship Is" is from Coffee and Tea for You and Me and "Purrfect" is from All About Animals.  I used Memento Rich Cocoa ink to stamp the sentiment.  My little kitty was cut at 1.5 and I also made her a pink collar.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today!

What blog hop would be complete without some candy!  I have a 4.5 X6.5 DCWV "the Spring Fling Matstack" for one of my lucky crafting friends.  All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me what is your favorite Easter memory. I won't require you to become a follower or a subscriber but if you do, leave me a 2nd comment telling me so for a second entry!  The winner will be announced Wednesday, April 11th.  Don't forget to come back to see you you have won!

Dreams Do Come True!

Hello my Crafty Friends! Can you believe we are half way through the work week!  The weather here on this Wednesday morning is a bit crazy!  The thunder and lightening is what woke me up at 5:45am this morning.  Hopefully it passes through without too much damage.  And to those of you in the Dallas area, I hope that you and your families are safe!

Well on to my first project for the new DT term over at Getting Cricky with K Andrew!  I was looking through all my wonderful stamps and came across this awesome sentiment and thought how fitting!  Tee Hee  Who ever thought when I sent in my DT submission that I would be picked and now here I am honored to be chosen a second time.  This was the very first DT I had ever applied to so imagine my EXCITEMENT when I was chosen.  I love K Andrew's stamps they are very versatile.  And she is an AWESOME person. Each of the DT sisters make you feel like you are part of a family, they are so sweet and helpful!  So if you get the chance to be a Guest Designer jump at it, she really is great!

This is the first time I used Happily Ever After Cricut Cartridge.  Although it is an older cartridge I just recently purchased it.  I love the shoe glass slipper!

My card is a typical A-2 sized card.  My blue base is Color Bok paper from Wal-Mart.  I cut my shoe at 3.0 using my Cricut Expression and paper from my scrap bin.  I'm really getting through my scraps, finally!  I vowed to not purchase anymore paper until I start using up my stash!  Sorry sometimes I digress.  This shoe can be found on page 41 of the handbook and is cut using the Icon feature.  My background paper is from DCWV the Glitter Mat Stack.  Okay, I may break and buy another one of these because lately this is my favorite stack to use.  My ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

My sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Art Stamps "Fashionable Friends".  I cut an oval scallop using Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Ovals Large.  I used the third to smallest or third to largest.  I inked around the edges using some Martha Stewart Ink - forget me not.  My sentiment was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

My Cricut Craft Room Card Creating Tuesday

Good Morning My Crafty Friends!  As you may have noticed my blog got a makeover!  Thank you Sarah!  I'm really loving it! Ok, enough about my awesome new blog design.....Today is Card Creating Tuesday over at My Cricut Craft Room.  Our assignment for today was to make a card with baskets and/or bunnies and use pastel colors.  This is what I came up with:

For my card today, I used Baby Steps.  I was looking for an Easter basket I liked so I went to MyCutSearch.com and put in Basket and this is one of them.  Can you believe I have looked at this hand book at least 25 times and didn't even see this basket.  Want to know why?  Well it's because it's a cut using the font  and font shadow features.  This cute bunny and basket can be found on page 61 of the Baby Steps handbook and it was cut at 3.5. My card is an A2 sized card.  The lavender base is from Recollections.  My background paper is from DCWV the Glitter Stack.  This is becoming one of my favorite stacks.  My green scallop oval was cut using Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Ovals Large along with my Cuttlebug.  I used the largest in the pack. I added some purple and green glitter glue from "Studio G" to the bows and the bunny's nose.  My blue ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  I stamped the "Happy Easter" sentiment from SU on a ticket I punched using the EK Success ticket punch.  I inked around the edges with SU Pear Pizzazz.  I used my pink gel pen to trace over the center of the bunny's ears.  I used my black gelly roll and my white gelly roll pens to give the basket and bunny some stitch marks.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  If you haven't already, head over to My Cricut Craft Room to see what my DT Sisters have created for your viewing pleasure!

Easter Treat Bags

Happy Monday!  As some of you may know, I teach CCD (Religion) to 8th graders in my parish, so I decided to make some treat bags for them.  I kept it really simple!  Here they are!

I picked up these celo bags at Michael's.  My tags were cut using Accent Esscentials Cricut Cartridge at 3.5.  My paper is DCWV - the Playtime Stack.  My Cross with the Crown of Thorns was cut at 1.5 from the New Testament Cartridge.  My "Happy Eater" stamp is from SU.

I am nervously sitting here waiting for the Getting Cricky DT announcement.  Although this says Monday, it's actually a scheduled post. TeeHee!!!!  We will know tomorrow!
Wish me Luck!
