Getting Cricky - Simply Sunday Challenge - Argh Matey

Happy Sunday My Crafty Friends!  Today is another Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky with K Andrew!  This week we were challenged to make a project with a pirate/fish theme.  I decided to go with a pirate theme.  I often have difficulty making cards for boys/men so that's what I was trying to accomplish today.

For my card, I used the Buccaneer Imagine Cartridge.  My card base is 5 1/2 X4 and I used Recollections black card stock.  My striped layer was printed and cut from the Buccaneer cartridge and is 5 1/4 X 4.  I cut and printed my skeleton along with the layers at 1 inches and used Stampin' Up Dimensionals to pop each layer up and give it some dimension.  Then I used 2 thicknesses of foam tape to apply him to my card for added dimension.  It looks really cool in person.  My black cord is from Walmart.  My awesome sentiment is from none other than the fabulous K Andrew.  I used the Pirate Tales & Fish Scales stamp set to stamp my rope with Rich Cocoa Memento ink and my sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  To check out this awesome stamp set or see all the other sets available click here!

My Cricut Craft Room Card Creating Tuesday

HAPPY MARDI GRAS!!!!!  Today's theme for Card Creating Tuesday over at My Cricut Craft Room is to make a Mardi Gras card or a party card!  And since I live here in New Orleans (well actually about 15 mins outside of NO) how could I not make a Mardi Gras card to celebrate one of the greatest free parties ever!

My card is 6x6.  My green card base is from Color Bok and is a top fold card.  My purple layer is 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 and is also from Color Bok.  My gold layer is 5 1/4 X 5 1/4 and is from Recollections Precious Metal pack.  I ran the gold layer through the cuttlebug using the Fleur de Lis embossing folder.  Both of my images were cut from the Designer's Calendar Cricut Cartridge.  The mask was cut at 5 inches.  I used my purple gel roll pen to make the purple faux ribbon on the stick of my mask and I out lined the mask using the same purple gel roll pen.  I used my green glitter gel roll pen to make the dots and stripes on the mask.  I added some purple, gold and green feathers from a Mardi Gras boa to the mask.  I cut the jester's hat at 4 inches and used purple glitter to outline the jester hat and to outline the diamonds.  I added some green and gold bling from Hobby Lobby to the ends.  I printed my Happy Mardi Gras sentiment on my computer because I don't have a Mardi Gras stamp.  (hint hint to all you wonderful stamp designers, Kristal, LOL)  I inked around the edges with green dye ink from Craft Smart.

Be sure to stop by My Cricut Craft Room to see what all my DT Sisters have created!  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope everyone has an awesome and safe Mardi Gras!

Day 4 of the Getting Cricky Pre-Hop/Promotional Week

Getting Cricky Blog Hop

Happy Wednesday!  I hope everyone had an awesome Valentine! Today is Day 4 of the Pre-Hop!  For those of you that have just popped in, this week the Getting Cricky DT has been challenged to use one cartridge (SVG Cut) that we haven't used in at least 3 months or haven't used at all to make projects for the entire week incorporating any K Andrew Designs Stamp sets we choose.  The cartridge I decided to use is Best of Pixar.  I bought this cart a while ago and never used it, its just been sitting on my shelf waiting for me.  However, I do have to admit this cart was mad at me; I couldn't get it to cut all the images initially but I kept playing with it and finally it started working.  And without further adieu, my project for today!

I cut Dorie at 3.0 using my E2 and cut her layers the same size all from the Best of Pixar Cartridge.  My card is your typical A2 sized with each layer being 1/4 inch shorter than the layer before it.  I ran my yellow layer through the cuttlebug using spots and dots embossing folder.  All of my paper is from Recollection including the Kraft base.  My ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  My awesome sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Splashtastic Summer stamp set.  As Dorie says "when life gets you down, just keep swimming"!

To get your own set of Splashtastic Summer stamps or to see all the awesome K Andrew Designs stamps, click HERE!  Don't forget $1 of each stamp set goes to charity and all of her stamps are manufactured here USA!

Thanks for stopping by today and please go visit each of my DT sisters as they have some awesome projects to show today, too!  Until next time, Happy Craftin'!

Getting Cricky Pre-Hop/Promotional Week Day 3

Getting Cricky Blog Hop

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!! I hope everyone has a wonderful day today. For Day 3 of the Getting Cricky Per-Hop week, I created a card using the Best of Pixar Cricut Cartridge along with K Andrew's Winged Things Stamp set!

Don't you just love A Bug's Life!  It's one of the sweetest stories ever!  All you have to do is believe in yourself and you can accomplish anything!  Well that's what my card is about today!  My card today is 6X12 scored and folded in half.  My blue mat is 5 3/4 X 5 3/4 and the purple mat is 5 1/2 X 5 1/2.  My ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.  Dot and her layers were cut at 3.0 inches using my E2 and the leaf is cut at 2.5 inches with layers using the E2 as well.  All of my paper came from my scrap box, trying really hard to use it up.  My awesome sentiment was put together using K Andrew Designs Stamp - Winged Things.

Getting Cricky Pre-Hop/Promotional Week - Day 2

If you are looking for My IMAGINE ation Monday  - Click Here!

Getting Cricky Blog Hop

Welcome to Day 2 of the Getting Cricky Pre-Hop/Promotional Week!  This week we were encouraged to find a cartridge (SVG cut) that we haven't used in at least 3 months and make a weeks worth of projects with it and K Andrew Stamps of course.  The rules are we have to use the same cart all week but we can mix up the stamps!  I choose to use Best of Pixar Cricut Cartridge which is brand new to me.  Sometimes I need to be convinced that I need/want a cart and this is one of those and even after I got it I wasn't sure I made the right decision.  But let me just say now that I have started making projects with it, I'm glad I have it.  It has the cutest images on it.  If you are a finding Nemo fan then you will love this cart!  I just happen to love that movie and so does my Grandson I had to buy two of these because we wore the first one out.  LOL

I made an easel card.  I have to say this is only my second one ever. LOL  But Pearl was soooo cute I thought she needed to be standing swimming around.  Pearl was cute at 3.25 using my E2, Best of Pixar and some Recollection card stock.  I cut her layers and pop dotted her up for some dimension.  All of my card stock for my card is actually from my scrap box, yep even the white base I used to make my easel card.  The bubble paper also came from my scrap box but was originally printed on my Imagine using the Buccaneer cartridge.  I added some ribbon from WalMart and some bling from Hobby Lobby.  My adorable sentiment is from K Andrew's Fashionable Friends stamp set.  Click here to get your own set or to see all the wonderful sets that are available!  Be sure to go all the way to the bottom to check out all the wonderful projects that are being linked up!  Don't forget to link up your projects!

My IMAGINE ation Monday

Happy Monday!  Today is my day to post over at My Cricut Craft Room and today is My IMAGINE ation Monday.  The day we use either our Imagine, E2 or CCR to create our project.

I used my Imagine along with the Better Together cartridge to create my card.  I tried to keep this card as manly as possible as its for my Step-dad today is his birthday!  Happy Birthday Bob!!!!  I cut the cute little owl at 3.5 using the layer feature.  He can be found on page 13 of the handbook.  The stump is from the owl on page 14 and I cut it using the layers option and deleted all other images aside from the stump. I popped up the wings, eyes and hat to add some dimension.  I added some googly eyes to the center of his eyes.  I also put the owl on a action wobble so he can wiggle and it makes his eyes go crazy!  LOL  I added some yellow and white ribbon from Hobby Lobby. My awesome sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Art Stamps.  You can find her stamps in Erica's store here or at K Andrew's site here!

Don't forget to pop on over to My Cricut Craft Room to check out all the awesome projects my DT sisters have created!  Also stop by Erica's Challenge blog and join in this month's challenge which you can find HERE!

Thanks for stopping by my sweet bloggie friends!

Whoo Loves You

Good Morning My Crafty Friends!  Whew!  Almost the weekend, can you believe it!  Things have been crazy busy for me at work this week, can't wait till Friday!  LOL   I took some time tonight to unwind by creating of course.  What did I make you ask.....well another valentine! Tee Hee  Take a look and let me know what you think!

My card is 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 and the base is Kraft card stock from recollections.  My brown layer is 5 1/4 X 4 from ColorBok card stock.  The blue polka dot paper is also from ColorBok  and is cut at 5 X 3 3/4.  My ribbon is from Walmart.  That cute little heart button is from Michael's.  My sweet owl image is from Better Together Imagine Cart and was cut at 3 inches with layers.  I deleted the hat layer and the stump because I wanted to use this cute branch from another owl image.  The branch is cut at 3.5 inches.  I cut my scallop circle from Paper Trimmings at 1.5o.  My adorable sentiment is from none other than K Andrew Designs Art Stamps, the Owly Hoo Sentiments set!  To get your own set or check out all the other awesome stamps she has to offer click HERE!  Did you know that all of her stamps are made here in the USA or that $1 from every set sold goes to charity.

My Cricut Craft Room - Card Creating Tuesday

It's Tuesday my Crafty Friends......and you know what that means right!  Yep It's Card Creating Tuesday over at My Cricut Craft Room!  This week, we had to make a "heart card".  Here's my take........
I used Wild Card Cricut Cartridge and Dreams Come True Cricut Cartridge to create my card.  My heart was cut fit to page using the Wild Card Cricut Cartridge using my E2 and pink card stock from Color Bok.  My glitter heart layer was hand cut by flipping the card over and tracing the heart.  When the card is open, it's 11 inches from tip to tip; closed it's 5 1/2.  Belle and the Beast were cut at 3 1/2 with layers.  Just so you know 3 1/2 is the smallest I would cut this image the layers are super small.  I cut a cloud from Simply Charmed cricut cart at 1 1/2 inked the edges with SU Real Red ink and added some Star Dust Stickles to make it sparkle. My sentiment is from one of K Andrew's newer stamp sets "It's Valentines" and was stamped on white card stock in Real Red ink from Stampin' Up.  I added a twine bow and some ribbon around the edge of the card.  For your own set of It's Valentines stamps, you can check out Erica's web store or K Andrew's site directly.

For my first project, I used the Cricut cartridge
Victorian Romance.

My card is a typical A2 sized card.  My base is black Recollections card stock.  My layer is 5 1/4 X 4 and is from DCWV All Dressed Up stack.  My image was cut at 3.5 using my E2.  I added three Glitzy Prismatic Stickers from Color Bok.  My sentiment is from K Andrew It's Valentine Stamp set.  My sentiment is stamped on pink card stock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut using Nestabilities Scallop Oval and then I added some Silver Pearl Liquid Pearl to each scallop.  I also inked around the edges using SU Real Red Ink.

For my second project, I used
Better Together Imagine Cartridge!

This card is also an A2 sized card but this one is top fold.  My blue layer is 5 1/4 X 4 and is Color Bok card stock from Wal Mart.  The next layer is DCWV The Blossoms & Butterflies stack and is cut at 5 X 3 3/4.  My image was printed and cut at 3 inches using my Imagine!  I added some crystal bling to the top right corner and my sentiment is stamped in Memento Black Ink on the ticket punched in the same yellow card stock from Recollections South Beach stack using the EK  Success ticket punch.  The sentiment is from K Andrew Fashionable Friends stamp set which can be purchased in Erica's store!  My ribbon (which is from Michael's) is ran through the grommets I added with my Crop A Dile II than added to my card prior to putting the DSP layer down.

For my third and final project for today, I used the
Love You A Latte Cricut Cartridge.

This card is also A2 sized and a top fold.  My cute image was cute from Love You A Latte Cart at 3inches including the layers.  My card base is Kraft card stock from Recollections.  My brown layer is 4 X 5 1/4 and is from Color Bok.  The red layer is 2 1/4 X 5 and is from my scrap drawer.  I used my white gelly roll pen to add some dash lines to the red layer.  My image was pop dotted on a Nestabilities Scallop Oval.  I added some Star Dust Stickles to the whip cream topping and the drop of whip cream on the cup to give it some shine.  I added orange glitter glue that I picked up in the craft section at Wal Mart to the label and the orange slice.  I used red liquid pearl for my candy on the whip cream.  The peach paper is from Paper Studio and the poker dot paper is Color Bok.  My ribbon is from Wal Mart and the orange crystals were also purchased at Wal  Mart. My awesome sentiment is from K Andrew Coffee & Tea for You & Me stamp set.  The Happy and Birthday were stamped on white GP card stock using SU Peach Parfait ink and layered with the same brown and peach paper.  Grande was stamped onto the peach label using Memento Rich Cocoa Ink prior to adding the glitter glue.

What hop would be complete without something sweet!
And what's that you ask.....
