"So Kissable"

Hello My Crafty Friends! Can you believe tomorrow is already February 1?  Where does the time go?  Doesn't it seem as we get older time moves quicker!  LOL  So today, I was finally catching up on some emails and checking out some of my favorite blogs and decided to enter the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge: Challenge Me Monday #96 - Valentiny Cards.  You should pop on over there and check it out!  All you have to do is make a tiny valentine (3X3) card!  Here is my project!

Aren't these squirrels adorable!  I couldn't resist them when I saw 'em on the Give A Hoot Cartridge.  You can find them on page 52.  I cute them at 1.25 on my E2, remember my card is only 3X3.  The card stock for my squirrels is from my scrap bin, finally getting rid of some of that!  I added a piece of Pink Sorbet twine from the The Twinery as a bow for my girly squirrel.  And used Glossy Accents on their eyes.  My card base is pink  card stock from Colorbok I picked up at Wal-Mart.  The pretty layer on top is from DCWV All Dressed Up stack.  I picked up the heart ribbon at Michael's a couple of weeks ago.  I stamped the "So Kissable" sentiment in SU Real Red ink on a piece of scrap white card stock.  I used my corner rounder to round and corners and inked around the edges with the same ink, just very lightly.  I added the little pink crystal heart.  (Sorry not sure where I got that, I think Michael's)  Where did that cute sentiment come from you ask.....well K Andrew's of course!  It is from her recently released "It's Valentines" stamp set!  Isn't it cute!
I hope you enjoyed your visit today, I certainly did!
Until Next Time, Happy Craftin'!

The Letter of the Day is E......

Happy Monday! Today over at My Cricut Craft Room the letter of the day is E!  What does that mean you ask; well I'll tell you, that means that the design team had to create a project using the letter E.  It could be a cartridge that begins with the letter E or use a feature that begins with the letter or pick an image that begins with that letter.  I picked am image with that letter.

Isn't this Elephant adorable!  She is totally a DIVA!!!!! My card is a typical A2 card.  My layer is cut at 5 1/4 X 4 from DCWV All Dressed Up!  My base is green card stock from Recollections.  The image was cut at 3.2 inches from the Paisley cart on page 29.  I used Elephant 2.  The pink card stock is also from Recollections.  I used my Imagine to print and cut her and flood filled the top layer with some pink polka dot pattered paper from Imagine More Cards.  It's hard to see in the pic but she is pink polka doted!  Her glasses was also flood filled with a pattern from the same cart and I added some pearls with Liquid Pearls - Silver pearl to the frames.  I made faux stitch lines using my black gelly roll pen.  I added three crystals using my i-rock from imaginisce.  The adorable sentiment is from none other than K Andrew's Fashionable Friends stamp set.  My ribbon is from Michael's.  Don't forget to head over to My Cricut Craft Room to check out my awesome DT sisters' projects!
Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, Happy Craftin'!

Simply Sunday Challenge - Fantasy Land

Happy Sunday My Crafty Friends!  Today is Simply Sunday Challenge day over at Getting Cricky with K Andrew and today's challenge is FANTASY LAND!  We were challenged to make anything FANTASY, like a mermaid, a fairy, etc....  I choose to go with a mermaid, mostly because of the AWESOME stamp set I used...PIRATE TALES & FISH SCALES!!!!  I love the K Andrew's stamp sets because you can put any combination of words together to create the sentiment you want and that's just what I did!  Take a look!!!

I love, love, love this sentiment! OK I think you get the picture, I like the sentiment.  LOL  And shaking a tail fin is just what she does.  I put her on an action wobble so she can shake.  For my project, I used the Buccaneer Imagine Cricut Cart along with my Imagine!  I'm still trying to figure it out but it's getting better.  lol  I cut my mermaid at 3 inches using the layer feature.  I only used some of the layers, as they are bigger!  My scallop circle was cut at 2.2 using the pre-loaded images in the Imagine.  I stamped the rope image with Memento Rich Cocoa and the sentiment with SU Pear Pizazz.  I used Cappuccino twine from the Twinery.  My card is A2 sized (5 1/2 X 4 1/4).  My kraft card stock base is Recollection; the green layer is 5 1/4 X 4 and is Georgia Pacific, my blue layer is 5X3 3/4 and is Colorbok and finally the bubble layer was printed on my imagine.

Always & Forever

Hello My Crafty Friends!  I hope everyone is having a great week so far!  I have a sweet Valentine card for you today using my E2, A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge and none other than K Andrew's "I Heart You" Stamp set.  In case you missed the blog hop on Friday and haven't had a chance to check out her new stamps, click HERE

My card is a typical A2 sized card.  I used Georgia Pacific black card stock from Wal-Mart as my base.  The pretty heart DIP is from Paper Studio.  I made a rosette by cutting a 2 X 12 inch strip of white card stock.  I used my EK Success Scalloped Scallop boarder punch on one side and left the other side straight.  Using my Martha Stewart score board I scored the strip at every quarter of an inch and then folded it back and forth.  I adhered the ends one on top of the other to the first score line and it forms sort of a circle.  Then you push it down and push it to the center to close the hole.  Add a punched circle to the back to keep it all together.  I fill my hole to glossy accents to help keep it all together.  You can add a second circle to the top of the rosette if you would like for added support.  I only do that if you won't be able to see it, when I am covering it with a button or an image.  I will do a pic tutorial soon if you would like.  i inked the edges of my rosette with SU Rose Regal ink.  I cut my image from A Child's Year Cricut cart at 3 inches using red card stock from Recollections.  I ran it through the cuttlebug folder with the Swiss Dots Embossing folder to give it some texture.  I added a crystal heart right above their hands.  I stamped "Always and Forever" from K Andrew's "I Heart You" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a piece of scrap white card stock.  I cut it down and used my corner chomper to round the corners.  I inked around the edges using the same Regal Red ink.   I repeated the process with a piece of black card stock and placed the white layer on top of the black using square foam adhesive from Recollections purchased at Michael's.  I added two crystal hearts (also purchased at Michael's).

I Heart You

Krafty Girls

My IMAGINE ation Monday

Happy IMAGINE ation Monday my crafty friends!  This is my first IMAGINE ation Monday post for My Cricut Craft Room!  I am soooo excited to be on Erica's Design Team, hope I can make her proud! As some of you know, I am brand new to the Cricut Imagine so this gives me a reason to get in there and find out what it can do.  Without further adieu, here is my project.

These are some of the things that I used to make my project: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; pink and blue card stock from my stash; kraft card stock from Recollections, white card stock Georgia Pacific; Spots & Dots Cuttlebug Embossing folder; Tim Holtz paper distresser; K Andrew Designs Art Stamps - Coffee & Tea for You & Me

My card base is Kraft card stock and the dimensions are 5 1/2 X 4 1/4.
The blue layer is cut at 5 1/4 X 4.

I adhered all my layers with my ATG gun.

My white layer was cut at 5 X 3 3/4 and ran through the Cuttlebug using the Spots and Dots Embossing folder.  My pink layer was cut at 2 X 3 3/4 and adhered on top of the white layer.

I used the cheater method to add my ribbon.  What is that you ask?  well that is when you use tape to adhere the ribbon rather than tying it completely around the card.

This is what it looks like so far!

Finally I added my image which was cut from the "Better Together" Cricut Imagine cartridge.  My image was cut at 3 inches and I cut all the layers.  I pop dotted it on my card using Recollections Foam Adhesive Squares.  I tied a bow with this really cute heart ribbon from Michael's and added it on top of my ribbon.  I used mini glue dots to attach my bow and added a glue dot behind the ribbon to keep it from slipping down from the added wight.  I added some pink Studio G gems I received for my birthday and used my white gelly roll pen to add the flux stitching.  Last but not least, I stamped my "You're my cuppa Tea" sentiment on a piece of white card stock using K Andrew Coffee & Tea for You & Me set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  If you would like your own set of stamps check out Erica's store!    For a closer look at the stamp set:

Thanks for stopping by to visit today!
Until next time, Happy Craftin'!

So on to my project:

Recipe:
Cartridge(s):  Sweethearts and Victorian Romance
Paper: Recollections
Ink: SU Real Red
Ribbon came from Hobby Lobby
Sentiment: K Andrew's Winter Wishes
Tag: Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio Two
Bling: imaginisce i-rock crystals
Stickles: blue and frosted lace
White Gelly Roll Pen

My card is a typical A2 sized card.  The heart is cut at 4 inches from Victorian Romance Cricut Cart.  The birds are cut at 2.5 inches from Sweeethearts Cricut Cartridge.  They can be found on page 67 and the cuts I used were Birdnest, Bridnest-s and the layers.  I cut them several times to get the colors I wanted and then cut the colors of each image I wanted and added to the blue layer which I used as a base layer.  I put some clear stickles on my finger and just kinda rubbed it all over the heart to give it some shine.  I added blue to the male bird's hat.  I used my white gelly roll pen to doodle.

Promo Week Day 5 - Best Friends

Good Morning and Happy Thursday!  I hope you've enjoyed this week's projects so far!  Today is my last project leading up to the "UR So Sweet" Getting Cricky Blog Hop tomorrow!  Don't forget to tune in for some awesome Valentine/Sweetheart projects from my design team sisters and me!  What time tomorrow you ask: 6pm Pacific, 7pm Mountain, 8pm Central, 9pm Eastern and 5pm if you are in Alaska.    I'll try to not make this post as long as yesterdays!  TEE -HEE!  For today's card, I made a really quick and simple Cricutless Card!  {GASP}

Let me tell you how this sweet card came together.  First of all I was digging through my stash ummm.....supplies and ran across these pretty little flowers and butterfly that came in a kit I purchased from Creative Charms; then as I dug further I found this pretty green flourish (sorry I don't remember where it came from but I know it was part of a card kit I purchased); I remembered I bought this cute Heart Block Cuttlebug embossing folder after Christmas with some of my Christmas loot; finally I added a purple card base cut at 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 and some lavender ribbon from Wal-Mart to that pink embossed layer cut at 5 1/4 X 4. I added that sweet "Best Friends" sentiment from the Winter Wishes K Andrew Designs stamp set with a sweet little heart bling between the words and Ta-Da a card is born!  I think this will make a cute little note card to send to my one of my scrapbooking pals that moved away and I don't get to see much! To get your own set of the very versatile WINTER WISHES stamps or see Kristal's entire collection available click HERE!  To see all the awesome projects my DT sisters have made click on the links below!

K Andrew Promotion Week - Day 4 Featuring Winter Wishes

Hello My Crafty Friends!  I hope everyone is having a great week thus far! This week has been awesome!  My DT Sister never cease to amaze me with their projects and the ways they come up with to use K Andrew's stamps! Speaking of which have you seen her most recent stamp sets which you can now Pre-Order?  Here they are!

Aren't these sets adorable!  I know you can't wait to get your own so click HERE to go to K Andrew's store.  Did you know that all of K Andrew's stamps are made right here in the USA?  And if that's not enough to get you all warm and tingly inside, she also donates $1 to charity for each set that is sold.  Each step set benefits a different charity!  Her stamps are so versatile!  You can mix and match within the set or you can take different words/sayings from different sets to come up with the perfect sentiment each time!  So what are you waiting for my friends, head on over there and check out her stamps and don't forget to tell her Miranda sent you over!

On to today's project!  As you know I've been featuring the Winter Wishes stamp set all week, showing you some of the word combinations you can make with this set.  As I previously stated the possibilities are endless!!!! Today, I made a Wedding/Bridal Shower card.  Please take a look and let me know what you think!  I love comments!

I used the Tie the Knot Cartridge for this card!  I love these doves, they can be found on page 34 and 35.  I used Dove and Dove-s as well as Dove2 and Dove2-s.  Both images along with the layers were cut at 2.25 inches using my E2!  I love that machine!  My black card base is from Recollections Precious Metals and is 5 1/2 X 4 1/4.  The red layer is also recollections paper - Gemstones and its cut at a weird size because I wanted more of the black paper to show.  The dimensions are 5 X 3 14/16.  I'm really liking these papers because they are shimmery.  I picked them up at Michael's while they were on sale around Christmas.  Sorry I sometimes ramble.  My silver card stock is from my stash but I pretty sure it's DCWV, it too is cut at a weird size.  This layer is cut at 4 3/4 X 3 11/16.  I used a EK Success Deco Scallop corner punch on all four corners and put on with SU dimensionals for some depth.  I ran both the red and silver card stock through the Cuttlebug using the Victoria Embossing folder.  My sentiment is from K Andrew's Winter Wishes set. I stamped it on some white Recollections paper also from the Precious Metals pack using Memento Tuxedo Black and cut the corners off to make my label.  I really don't know how to make a bow so I sorta cheated to make this one behind my label.  I put a medium glue dot on the back and made a loop added a mini glue dot and made another loop and continued that until I had seven loops, then I cut a second tail and added that with another glue dot.  Finally added a final medium clue dot to adhere it to my card.  Not bad for not knowing what I was doing, if I do have to say so myself.  LOL  Finally, I pop dotted my doves for some dimension and added some Glossy Accents to the heart that the doves are holding.

Please stop by my DT Sister's blogs to see what they have created!  To make it a little easier below is a list!

For my card today, I used Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge.  My pink card base was cut at 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 scored and folded at 4 1/4 to form a side opening card! All of my paper used for this card including the base came from my scrap draw!  The Polka Dotted mat is cut at 5 1/4 X 4 and adhered with my pink atg gun!  My off white mat was cut at 3 3/4 X 3 and ran through the Cuttlebug using the Bloom Dots embossing folder.  My deer was cut at 3 inches and layered.  My orange ribbon is from Michael's.  My "So Deer" sentiment is from K Andrew's Winter Wishes set and was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto a piece of off white card stock and hand cut.  Her stamps are so versatile and can be used for any occasion!  I absolutely love them!  I used Silver Pearl liquid pearls on each side of the sentiment.  To get your own set of Winter Wishes and/or to see all the other available sets including her new Valentine Sets, click HERE!  Not only are her stamps high quality, they are all made here in the USA!  Also for each set purchased, $1 goes to Charity!

My Cricut Craft Room - Card Creating Tuesday

Hello My Crafty Friends!  This is my very first DT post over at My Cricut Craft Room!  Today is Card Creating Tuesday and it was a sketch/color/theme challenge.  Below is the sketch we had to use along with the colors red, pink and brown and to make things just a tad bit more interesting, it has to be in a Valentine theme!

For my project, I rotated (or flipped) the sketch to the left.  Here is my take on the sketch!

The red base is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 scored and folded at 4 1/4.  The paper is Recollections "Gemstones" which I picked up at Michael's.  The brown mat is 5 1/4 X 3 3/4 and is also Recollections paper "Precious Metals".  I love both of these papers because they have some shimmer to them.  My next mat (with the words on it) is 4 3/4 X 1 1/2.  This DSP is Colorbok from Wal-Mart.  My brown and pink polka dot paper and yes it is brown and pink is 3 3/8 X 1 1/4.  This cute paper is from Me & My Big Ideas, also purchased at Michael's.  My "kiss" was cut from the Tie the Knot Cricut Cartridge page 53 in the handbook using Kiss, Kiss-s and Blackout/Shadow.  Each layer was cut 2 1/2 inches.  On the lightest pink, I added some cotton candy stickles.  I mean which set of lips are ready for kissing without any gloss!  I placed three red rhinestones at the top left for some bling and my "a kiss for you" sentiment is from the brand new I Heart You Valentine Set from K Andrew.  To get your own set or see all the stamps she has available click HERE!  I stamped the sentiment in Regal Rose ink from SU but it wasn't quite dark enough so I went over it with my hot pink gel pen!

I hope you enjoyed my first project for My Cricut Craft Room.  Don't forget to pop over there and check out all the awesome projects from my super talented DT Sisters!  As always, thanks for stopping by!

Until Next Time, Happy Craftin'!

My card is a typical A2 sized card.  The base is lavender and the first layer is white.  The card stock came from Wal-Mart.  My DSP layer is Paper Studio from Hobby lobby.  I cut all three flowers from Flower Shoppe at 3 inches and rolled them as per the instructions on the cart.  These are the first flowers I made from that cart and I think they are soooo cute.  My vase was cut at 3 inches from Walk in my Garden on vellum and ran through my cuttlebug using the D'vine Swirls Embossing Folder.  My ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  My sentiment is stamped in SU Real Red ink on a ticket using the EK Success ticket punch.  I traced the ticket on pink paper and cut it a little bigger to make a shadow.  I put two gradient pearls from Creative Charms each side of the sentiment.

K Andrew Designs

Without further adieu, my first project!

For my card, I used the Imagine and the Snow Angel cartridge.  The base of my card is 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 using recollections card stock.  The next layer which is white is cut at 5 1/4 X 4 using Georgia Pacific card stock from Wal-Mart.  The background layer is printed and cut from the Snow Angel cartridge at 5 1/2 inches and then trimmed down to 5 X 3 3/4 and finally ran through the cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder to give it some texture.  This just happens to be one of my favorite Cuttlebug folders.  I love the trees on the background paper.  The snow man was cut and printed at 2.7 from the same cartridge.  My snow lady was cut and printed at 2.5 for a little contrast.  My "So Cute" snow couple was pop dotted using foam tape from Wal-Mart.  Finally my "SO CUTE" sentiment is from Winter Wishes by K Andrew, stamped in SU Pear Pizzazz ink on white card stock then cut in a little flag shape.  I added a sweet little heart to give it some bling.

Dino-Mite!!!

Hello My Crafty Friends!
I got some SUPER EXCITING news yesterday, but I couldn't share it until today!!!!!  I got picked as one of the new design team members for My Cricut Craft Room Erica's blog is always filled with Cricut awesomeness!!!  What a great birthday present!  Yep, today is my birthday, I am celebrating 45 wonderful years of life!!!! Thank you Erica for such an awesome birthday gift!  And to celebrate, I found the cutest card to re-create!  I'm sure all you Cricut lovers out there have seen all the super cute projects each of the Cricut handbooks have on the first few pages to give you an idea of how to use the features on the cartridge, right!  Well all these years I've been having my Cricut and I never made one of those projects and getting the "Dino-Mite" news that I made the cut for the My Cricut Craft Room DT, I thought the cute card in the Create a Critter handbook would be fitting!  I followed all the directions in the book and added a little extra.  All my images were cut using my E2.  Take a look!

As I stated, I used the directions in the handbook but for those of you who don't have this cart and want to reproduce this card, here is how I made it:
For the base of the card, I used a piece of blue card stock from my stash cut at 12X8.  I folded that in half to form a  6X8 card, scored the front of the card at 2 inches and folded it back to create a flap.  My pretty white designer paper is another piece from my stash but I think it may be DCWV, it has glitter on it and is really pretty in person.  I cut that layer at 4X8 applied my orange ribbon (from Wal-Mart) and finally adhered that layer to my card base using my ATG gun.  I cut all the dinosaur pieces at 6 inches from the Create a Critter cart using the dino on page 50. All of the paper for my dinosaur is from SU, sorry I don't recall the names of each color except the orange, which is pumpkin pie.  I love SU card stock because it cuts so well on the cricut!  I put my dinosaur together using Scotch quick dry adhesive.  I added some googly eyes and some orange stickles to his mouth.  I added some faux stitching with my white jelly roll pen!  He was popped up on some foam tape I purchased at Wal-Mart.  For the inside of my card, I cut the palm tree at 6 inches  from page 51 of the Create a Critter cart using the accessory function.  The paper I used for my tree is from Recollections.  I doodled on the tree and popped it up as well using the same foam tape.  The Dino-Mite was cut at 3 inches using the phrase function and can also be found on page 51.  Although the "explosion" looks green in the pic it is actually orange and the top layer is light brown.  Sorry for the quality of the pics, I took them with my iPhone which usually takes good pics but the colors are a little off today.  I hope you like my "Dino-Mite" card I thought it was adorable in the handbook and its just that much cuter in person!  I'll be holding on to this for a special little guy I know who will be having a birthday soon!  As you can see in the middle pic above you still have lots of room to write a message!
THANKS FOR STOPPING IN TO SAY HI!
I HOPE EVERYONE HAS AN AWESOME DAY!
UNTIL NEXT TIME, HAPPY CRAFTIN'!

A Sad Day!

Hello My Crafty Friends!  Today was a sad day, we said goodbye to my step-grandmother today as she passed away from brain cancer on Friday.  It was really sad watching my step-dad who is 6 foot some, 300 + lbs crumble.  He is always such a strong man and today I saw a sad man!  As he said his final goodbyes to his dear mother, he reminded us how precious each day is with the ones we love!  I pray tonight that Bobby can find some peace in knowing that his mother is no longer suffering and that she went home to our Sweet Lord!  With that in mind, I made him a card just to let him know I am thinking of him.  I didn't want it to be your usual sympathy card but sorta an uplifting card.  I often time have a hard time making a masculine card.  For whatever reason its always easier to make a girly card.  LOL  But here is an attempt at making that masculine card!

I used Create A Critter cricut cartridge for my sun.  It can be found on page 52.  I cut all my layers at 3 inches and inked all the edges with some Rich Cocoa Memento ink.  I hid the facial features using my gypsy and stamped a "Peachy Keen" face on the sun.  I added some pink cheeks with a pencil color and colored in the tongue.  My paper and ribbon are from Wal-Mart. The ticket for my sentiment is from E K Success.  My sweet sentiment stamp is from K Andrew "Splash-tastic Summer" set and is stamped in So Saffron SU ink.  To get your own Splash-tastic Summer stamps or to see all the other FABULOUS K Andrew stamp sets click HERE!   For a closer look at this set see below!
On another note, a friend of mine asked if I would make some baby shower favors for a shower she is throwing.  They don't know the sex of the baby {GASP}! Can you believe it someone not wanting to know the sex of their baby before it is born.  I thought that tradition was long gone! LOL  Any who, I started searching my carts and low and behold on the Life's A Party cart, I found the cutest box.  I made it just like the handbook showed.  Of course I explained we could use different paper and change it up a bit but I wanted to give her an idea of what we could do, take a look!
Isn't it adorable and it took me approximately 15 mins to make it!  I cut the box from the Life's A Party cart at 5 1/2 inches along with the B and G blocks.  Of course we will shrink it if in fact this ends up being the favor because it will take a bit of candy to fill this one!  Hee Hee!!!!  I honestly don't remember where I got that ribbon but its getting low! :(  My paper is from my scrap pile so I'm not sure where its from either.  I know, not a lot of info.  I really am trying but I am totally and completely drained today.  Hoping to perk up a bit as my birthday is Wednesday! WOO HOO!!!!!
Thanks for stopping by to say hi!
Until next time, Happy Craftin'!
Miranda :)
