Sorry I've been MIA

So sorry I've been MIA but life has been happening and taking up all my crafty time!  My Dad was in the hospital for a while but is home now and doing much better.  Then my daughter got sick and now I'm sick!  Not to mention I have been having internet problems!  It's been crazy!  Hopefully I can get back into my craft room this weekend and do some much needed craft therapy!  lol  Again I am sorry I haven't posted lately but hope to have some projects for you soon!  :)

Who's Afraid?

I was able to get some time in my craft room tonight and completed a scrapbook page.  As you can see, I am way behind on scrapbooking.  The page I completed was of my Grandson, Brayden at Boo At the Zoo in October 2010!  We had a great time and everything was okay until the Haunted Train Ride and there was someone dressed as Jason with a "real" chainsaw.  Brayden got really afraid and was crying his Paren saved him.  lol  Needless to say he quickly forgot the trauma as we went trick-or-teating in the zoo!  He really did have an awesome time!  So here is my page showing that moment of fear!
My pattern paper is from Debbie Mumm for Jo-Ann fabrics and crafts Harvest & Holiday stack that I picked up last year on sale.  The black cardstock is from my stash.  I cut a strip (sorry don't know the width didn't measure it, kinda eyeballed it) and ran it through my paper crimper.  Picture is matted on a piece of scrap green cardstock.  The spider was cut at 3" from the Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge and the pumpkin was cut at 3 1/2 inches from the Potpourri Basket Cartridge and then cut again using the shadow function.  My title was cut at 1 1/2 from Plaintin Schoolbook twice once with the shadow feature.  The ribbon is from Wal-Mart.  The brads and bling I picked up at Michael's.
Thanks for stopping by!

CCCC #8 Stretch Your Imagination

Good Morning!  Happy Mardi Gras!  I actually found time to play along with the CCCC before I head out to the Mardi Gras Celebrations today!  The cartridge this week is Stretch Your Imagination, I love this cart but haven't used it in a while.  Without further adieu, here is the card I created:
Recipe:
Red Card Stock from Wal-Mart cut at 51/2 X 41/4
Pink Cardstock is from DCWV - Blossoms & Butterflies Stack cut at 51/4 X 4
The flower with flower pot was cut at 3 1/2 from the Stretch Your Imagination Cart
I cut the actual flower 2x's and pop dotted the layers to give it some dimension
The white pearlized paper is from Paper Studios that I picked up at Hobby Lobby and the matt was cut at 31/4 from the Lacy Labels cart (Hugs Layer)
The stamp is from My Creative Time  - Mom You Rock set!  I am so excited this is my first set!
I just stamped it on a piece of pink scratch paper and cut it with my wavy scissors and then added two red mini brads.  The ribbon is some I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  I love lady bugs!

Congrats on the New Baby Boy!

Happy Lundi Gras!  I was able to leave work early due to the Lundi Gras festivities!  I took advantage of the situation and was able to spend some time in my craft room!  Woo Hoo!!!  One of my sweet hunnie's cousins had a sweet baby boy and he asked me to make a card to send with a gift.  I wanted something a bit different so this is what I came up with:
So Tommy asked why did I put a boat on it?  Cause it's a boy!  I guess maybe he didn't connect the two!  Or maybe its just me.  lol   On to the card recipe:
Typical A-2 size card;
Paper is Colorbok from Walmart;
Green matt is 5 1/4 X 4 and ran through the Cuttlebug using the Spots & Dots folder;
 Blue matt under the pattern paper is 5 1/4 X 1 and punched with a scallop punch;
Pattern Paper is cut at 5 1/4 X 1 3/4;
Blue Matt is 3 3/4 X 2 5/8;
White Matt is 3 5/8 X 2 3/4 and ran through a paper crimper;
The boat is cut at 3 inches from the Mickey & Friends Cricut Cartridge;
Stamp is from Scappy Mom's Stamps Simple Sentiments.
Thanks for taking a look!

Heart Bridal Couple

I was visiting some of my favorite blogs last week and came across the cutest wedding/shower card on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts and just had to try it.  She has a video showing you how she made the couple here (Thank you Dawn)!  So here is my card:
For my card I just used paper and ribbon from my stash.  And being brand new to SU, I didn't have the full heart punch but I do however have a Cricut so I was able to cut my four hearts at 1 1/2 inches and use those.  I put a little stickles on the lapel and bow tie for a little sparkle.  And with my finger, I smeared some on the dress which is hard to see in the pic because it is very little.  The stamp is from Scrappy Mom's Stamps Love Notes which I love.  They were released just in time for Valentine's but as you can see they are versatile.  I hope everyone has had a great weekend thus far!  And now that the rain is over, here, everyone can continue with their Mardi Gras Celebrations!  (Although the rain hasn't stopped the die hards!)  Hope you enjoy my card!  Have a great day!

Saturday Sketch Challenge 193

Happy Saturday everyone.  What a dreary morning.  It's raining here in good ole South Louisiana!  Makes for a nasty Mardi Gras weekend.  Since its gloomy this morning I thought I'ld make a bright card!
Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it:

Card Recipe:
Paper:  Stash
Stamp is DMD from Walmart (one of the first sets of stamps I ever bought just to try)
Ink: SU Pumpkin Pie (watercolored)
Ribbon: Walmart
Bling: Imaginisce - iRock
Yellow Stickles for the center of the flower
I pretty much stuck to the suggested sizes on the challenge:
  • Base: 5-1/4 x 10-1/2", scored at 5-1/4"
  • Layer 1: 5-1/8 x 5-1/8"
  • Layer 2: 5 x 5"
  • Layer 3: 3-3/8 x 3-3/8" (I think I did this layer a bit bigger b/c I wanted more yellow)
  • Layer 4: 3-1/4 x 3-1/4
Thanks for taking a look!
Have a great weekend and if you are in the NO area be safe while out at the parades!
